Rural Comm is based in the small farming community of Farina, IL. Farina is the typical small community with growing potential and needs. A small group of friends from Farina got together and decided that the current Internet at the time wasn’t sufficient for rural residences, so just like many other companies, Rural Comm was born out of necessity.
Since Rural Comm (Rural Enterprises, Inc.) started in 2004 with a few tower locations, it has grown by leaps and bounds. We now have over 50 tower locations in several Illinois counties including Fayette, Marion, Effingham, Bond, Clinton, Cumberland, and Shelby Counties. We have several large towers that span a large service area and also many shorter towers for small rural communities.
Several employees of Rural Comm are family members of the “founding fathers” which makes for a tight-knit team. Since our office is based in the heart of our service area, our neighbors’ satisfaction with our service not only becomes the most important company goal, but also a personal one. We strive to know our customers personally and to help them with their Internet needs.
